5352 Alfred James Christmass

5352 Alfred James Christmass was in the 16th battalion AIF, during the western front campaign in France he was captured at Rhiencourt during the first battle of Bullecourt. During his internment Alfred learnt to speak fluent German working on a German family farm. In WW2 he was able to use this to translate at a WA prison camp for Alien civillians while attached to Fortress Fremantle in the garrison force.
